- The sovereign Republic of Cyprus (referred to as Cyprus) in the south.
- The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in the north, recognised only by Türkiye; referred to by the United Nations as "legally invalid" and "the occupied part of the Republic of Cyprus" in "Security Council Resolution 550 (1984)" and by the European Union as "the occupied areas of Cyprus" in European Parliament Resolution of "Procedure: 2025/2860(RSP)" and "Texts adopted: P10_TA(2025)0192".
- The United Nations Buffer Zone (UNBZ), in between the north and the south, administered by the United Nations.
- The U.K. Overseas Territory of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, mentioned as (depending on the specific part) Akrotiri which is in the southwest or Dhekelia which is in the southeast.
